Run up to AWB MK2?

Since Comrade Zero's coronation, there have been a rash of hyped up and publicized shootings running around the media and the rhetoric coming from the federal government has ramped up significantly in the last two months as well. The biggest selling point recently has been this Mexican drug war issue, and the numbers the ATF were throwing around, something like 90% they said, of guns used in violence in Mexico come from the USA... really? REEEALY?

Cause, you know, no one but the USA has guns, the Chinese don't, no one south of Mexico has two bullets to rub together and look menacing, Venezuela certainly doesn't have any interest of sending guns to groups destabilizing Mexico... right.

Yeah, not so much: Via my brother, Via FoxNews, Via HotAir and notably NOT via any other major media outlet I bring you this:

yeah its closer to like 17% are from the US, which comes out to something like 6 or 7 thousand, for THE ENTIRE COUNTRY OF MEXICO!

That friends is astonishingly low, considering the amount of illegal activity happening down on the US / Mexico border there really should be more US guns involved here. The ATF has just come out to clarify that 90% of the guns that were successfully traced were from the US, but that’s not a surprise because few other countries especially those that put guns on the black market, put serial numbers on their guns or any other identifying marks for that matter.

This along with the rest of the media attention to the negative image of guns, looks mighty suspicious to me, and to a lot of other gunnies. Deliberate misrepresentation by the ATF and the new secretary of state bodes ill for the next few years and gun rights in this country.

This should be front page news on every paper in America, but it won't be, because guns are politically incorrect, and anything that makes them look bad is a good thing, true or not.
